The plain-language version
National Relief Program earns money in two ways: display advertising shown on our pages, and sponsored partner links (also called affiliate links). When you click a sponsored link or use a partner's service, the partner may pay us a referral fee. This never costs you anything extra.
How sponsored links appear on this site
- Every sponsored link is labeled — you'll see "Sponsored partner" (and, for loan offers, "Loan offer") directly on the link or card.
- In our interactive tools, free and official resources are always shown first. Sponsored partners appear after them, as clearly marked optional extras.
- Loan-related sponsored links additionally state that a loan must be repaid with interest and is not a grant.
- Sponsored links use the
rel="sponsored"attribute, consistent with search engine guidelines for paid links.
What compensation does not buy
- It does not buy placement in our editorial content, rankings, or recommendations of official programs.
- It does not mean we endorse, verify, or guarantee the partner's products, services, or your eligibility for them.
- It does not change the substance of our guides. Our articles link to official sources regardless of whether a partner exists in that category.
Our advertising rules
Because our readers are often in difficult financial situations, we hold advertising on this site to specific standards:
- We do not run ads or partner links that impersonate government agencies or claim guaranteed approval.
- We do not use countdown timers, fake urgency, or "act now or lose your benefits" tactics.
- We do not collect your personal information to sell as leads. Our tools run in your browser and transmit nothing.
- We clearly distinguish between grants (which are not repaid) and loans (which are repaid with interest) everywhere both appear.
Your responsibility when using partner links
Sponsored partners are independent companies with their own terms, privacy policies, and practices. Before providing personal information to any third party — ours included in that advice — read their privacy policy and terms. If a partner's practices ever fall short of what you'd expect from a link on our site, we want to hear about it.
FTC compliance
This disclosure is provided in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's guidance on endorsements and material connections (16 CFR Part 255). The presence of this page does not replace the individual labels on sponsored links, which we maintain wherever such links appear.
